In addition to it, there may be an addition of some points on your license that will increase your insurance premium. After a person is caught for drunk driving, it is reflected on his/her criminal and Department of motor vehicle record. This record is checked by the insurance companies to decide the insurance premium. If the driver is involved in a child custody case then he/she may lose the case because of a drunken driving record. Further, the driver can lose his/her job because of the criminal record and may not be able to get selected for a new job because employers prefer a clean criminal record of their employees.
